Zusammenfassung
Angesichts hoher Migrationszahlen weltweit stehen nicht nur einzelne Nationalstaaten vor Herausforderungen, und migrationsethische Diskussionen können nicht allein auf nationaler Ebene geführt werden. In diesem Artikel werden daher zunächst die alt- und neutestamentlichen Grundlagen der christlichen Migrationsethik neben der Tradition der Gastfreundschaft in anderen Religionen sowie die historische und gegenwärtige philosophische Diskussion migrationsethischer Fragen beleuchtet. Der deutsche Protestantismus zeigt durch seine sozialethischen Beiträge zur Debatte im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert, wie migrationsethische Fragen unter neuen Perspektiven immer neu verhandelt werden müssen. Die gegenwärtige rechtliche Situation muss daher im Sinne einer globalen Verantwortung reflektiert werden, wozu das christliche Ethos seinen Beitrag leistet und mit den migrationsethischen Grundeinsichten der anderen religiösen Traditionen und der philosophischen Strömungen abzugleichen ist.

Migration Ethics
Summary
Regarding a high figure of migrants all over the world there is a consistent need to take up the challenges posed by an ethics of migration. The relevant debates therefore demand to be conducted not only on a national but on an international level. This article hence starts by outlining the fundaments of the Christian conviction related to foreignness and migration as found in the Old Testament as well as their pursuit in the New Testament alongside with the tradition of hospitability in other religions and the historical and contemporary philosophical debate on migration and its ethics. Protestantism in Germany provided during the 20th and 21st century an example for the need to always rethink issues linked to the debate on migration and integrate new aspects. The contemporary legal situation requires reconsideration when it comes to global responsibility. The Christian ethos contributes to this debate on migration and ethics and has to take into account basic convictions of other religious traditions and philosophical currents.
