„Engagierte Religionswissenschaft“ wird in autobiografischer Form in zwei Kontexten dargestellt: theologisch-kirchlich (1960–1994) und soziologisch-politisch (1994–2020): (1) theologisch-kirchlich: Dialog als Lebensstil, Prinzip Verwundbarkeit, Inter-Religiosity, synkretisch Überleben; (2) sozio-politisch: Gesellschaftsingenieur, Faktor Religion in Konflikt-Transformationen und Friedens-Verhandlungen. Abschließend sind zwei psychologische Voraussetzungen für praktisch-angewandte Religionswissenschaft erwähnt: Risiko-Bereitschaft und Flair für gesellschaftliche Transitionen.

„Engagierte Religionswissenschaft“ is presented in autobiographical form in two contexts: theological-ecclesiastical (1960-1994) and sociological-political (1994-2020): (1) theological-ecclesial: dialog as lifestyle, principle of vulnerability, inter-religiosity, syncretic survival; (2) socio-political: social engineer, factor of religion in conflict transformations and peace negotiations. Finally, two psychological prerequisites for practical-applied religious studies are mentioned: willingness to take risks and flair for social transitions.
