„Die Bibelwelt Salzburg versteht sich als ein Erlebnismuseum, in dem biblische Geschichten mit allen Sinnen erlebt werden können. Sie wird vom ökumenisch geführten Verein Bibelwelt mit Unterstützung der Stadtpfarre St. Elisabeth und des Seelsorgeamtes der Erzdiözese Salzburg getragen.“ Mit diesem Selbstverständnis vertritt die Bibelwelt Salzburg den Anspruch, ein Erlebnishaus zu sein, das einen erlebnisorientierten und niederschwelligen Zugang zur Heiligen Schrift schafft. Nachfolgend wird beschrieben, wie aus ersten Ideen das heutige Erlebnishaus entstanden ist (1); welches Konzept der Bibelwelt zugrunde liegt (2); welche thematischenSchwerpunkte gesetzt werden (3) und wie sich das Haus nach aktuellem Stand (April 2023) für die Zukunft aufstellt (4).

„Bibelwelt Salzburg sees itself as a museum where biblical stories can be experienced with all the senses. It is supported by the ecumenically run association Bibelwelt with the support of the parish of St. Elisabeth and the Pastoral Office of the Archdiocese of Salzburg.“ With this self-image, Bibelwelt Salzburg claims to be an experience house that creates an experience-oriented and low-threshold access to the Holy Scriptures.
