Dieser Artikel beschreibt die Gottesdienstordnung der östlich-orthodoxen Kirche. Er informiert über die theologische Deutung und die Geschichte der „Göttlichen Liturgie des Hl. Johannes Chrysostomos“, d. h. der Normalliturgie der byzantinischen Kirche. Der Beitrag erklärt Schlagworte der orthodoxen Gottesdiensttradition in griechischer, kirchenslawischer und deutscher Sprache, er vergleicht die östliche Gottesdienstordnung mit dem westlichen Ritus der katholischen bzw. lutherischen Messe und informiert über das Liturgieverständnis im ökumenischen Dialog. Ein besonderer Blick wird auf das realistische Symbolverständnis sowie die eschatologische Dimension der östlichen Liturgie und ihre Konsequenzen für die Ekklesiologie geworfen.

Summary
This article describes the order of service of the Eastern Orthodox Church. It informs about the theological interpretation and the history of the “Divine liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom”, i.e. the ordinary eucharistic liturgy of the byzantine church. It explains various liturgical key-terms of the orthodox liturgical tradition in Greek, Church-Slavonic and German, compares the eastern order of service with the western rite of the roman-catholic and the Lutheran mass and informs about the understanding of the liturgy as a topic of ecumenical consultations. A special focus is laid on the eschatological dimension of the eastern liturgy and its consequences for ecclesiology.
